Diversity ... We are more alike than we Realize
The most important thing to
remember when it comes to cultural diversity is that we are more alike than we
are different. By using techniques such as parallel and lateral thinking and
understanding the differences and the nuances between the thinking or
creative brain and the emotional brain, employees from various backgrounds
can learn to coexist and thrive in the work environment.
Diversity ...
Learn to embrace our differences
Isn't it astounding how people of various cultures may clash in the
workplace but then these same people will travel thousands of
miles to another country and embrace the differences of the people in
another land? Multigenerational conflict arises in the workplace but then
grandparents and grandchildren cannot wait to visit each other on the holidays
to learn about the different generations. Let's save on travel expenses and
let's not wait for the holidays to learn about other cultures. Let's learn how
to appreciate the differences in each other in the workplace.
From Conflict to Cooperation ...How to Mediate a Dispute
What
do heads of companies, comedy writers, advertising executives and parents have
in common? Creative problem solving! When used correctly the same techniques
used to run a company, improve sales, write a joke, launch an ad campaign and
raise a family are very similar. In addition to learning these three techniques
that will give you the ability to invent solutions to personal and corporate
problems, you will also learn the techniques of parallel thinking. With
parallel thinking you will no longer have to argue in the board room or the
family room. Parallel thinking will lead you to solving problems together and
uniting to arrive at mutually beneficial solutions.
Taking Care of Yourself so you can Take Care of your Children
Taking care of yourself means more than setting sail
on your annual cruise or lying down to a weekly back massage. In order to truly
take care of yourself you have to start with the basics. If you can’t
control stress, enjoy a good night sleep, and if you are suffering from
back pain, then it doesn’t matter where you where you go or how many times
someone will release the tension between your shoulder blades. If you are rushing around with the same pile
of papers on your desk after you close those office doors behind you as when
you walked in, if you walk in the supermarket attempting to buy shaving cream
and absent-mindedly walk out with whipped cream, then it doesn’t matter how
many glasses of wine and double lattes you down as you aspire to achieve daily
bliss. To truly take care of yourself you may want to pamper yourself with the
following:

Changing Behavior in the Work Place/How to Get Your Employees to Develop an Entrepreneurial Spirit and Attitude
In order to teach dolphins to
jump 15-20 feet out of the water, trainers do not yell at the dolphins to jump
and then punish them when they do not cooperate. Trainers will push a bar
under the rope and every time the dolphin swims over the bar they are rewarded.
The trainer keeps raising the bar until the dolphin is jumping 20 feet out of
the water. This topic teaches how positive reinforcement is more effective at
changing behavior in the workplace than through intimidation and negative
reinforcement.
Reducing Employee Turnover
Employees do not job hop
seeking greater wealth. Treat an employee with respect and place them in positions
in which they can improve their self-esteem and you could very well have an
employee for the rest of their working life. This seminar will not only have
you laughing and learning about how to improve employee morale but you will
also learn behavior modification techniques to instantly have employees picking
up after themselves, answering the phone with enthusiasm and
interacting positively with residents and fellow staff. These behavior
modification techniques can also be used to bring sanity back to your home
life. Learn how to instantly develop techniques that will have your children
coming home on time and pick up creative ways to motivate your children to
clean their rooms

how to intervene and rehabiliate existing illnesses.
Discover the Relationship Between Sleep, Stress, Humor and Hypertension
Getting a good night sleep,
reducing stress levels and learning how to laugh at life's frustrations
may be just as important as exercise and nutrition in
lowering blood pressure. Lack of sleep and high stress levels increase Cortisol, which not only boosts abdominal fat and
exacerbates cellular inflammation but also increases blood pressure. Learn
about the physiology and biochemistry of sleep, stress and fat metabolism and
how you can use stress reduction techniques, sleep techniques, exercise,
nutrition tips and humor to help control hypertension.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Training
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an empirically
validated psychotherapy that has been shown to be effective in reducing
self-harming and self-defeating behaviors, such as those exhibited by
adolescents with Borderline Personality Disorder and associated traits. These
individuals struggle with impulsiveness, mood instability, have difficulty coping
with stress, use self-injurious behaviors to manage overwhelming feelings, or
have difficulty maintaining constructive relationships. Often these issues can
result in high-risk behaviors, interpersonal chaos, frequent hospitalizations,
and broken therapeutic relationships.
The primary goal of DBT is to help individuals
identify and understand the triggers that lead to self-defeating behaviors,
provide the new skills needed to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and
develop effective interpersonal relationships. This presentation will provide a broader understanding
of adolescent borderline psychopathology, core principles and theories of
Dialectical Behavior therapy, and the efficacy of Dialectical Behavior Therapy
as a treatment modality in working with this population.

kind of client/issue. CBT is widely
accepted as an evidence-based, cost-effective psychotherapy for many disorders.
